Role of a producer in the virtual classroom

A virtual classroom producer manages the technical and operational aspects of a virtual training session, allowing the facilitator to focus on learner experience.

In VILT and hybrid learning, the facilitator focuses on teaching and the producer handles the tech and other critical learner support—launching polls, managing breakout rooms, resolving issues, and monitoring chat. Their behind-the-scenes support helps sessions stay on track and learners stay connected.

Virtual Producer Duties:

  • Manage Tools: Launch polls, set up breakouts, monitor chat.
  • Ensure Seamless Participation: Address technical barriers and support learners in accessing and engaging with content.
  • Assist the Facilitator: Monitor time, transitions, and platform flow.
